Andrew Jackson Hall is one of the biggest (and best according to many touring artists) performance spaces in Tennessee. Empty, the stage (131’ x 71’) could hold four Lear jets or the Space Shuttle (with one wing hanging over the first two rows).
Here’s a few more fun facts about the technical workings of the stage:
- 2.5 miles of rope in our fly rail system, which allows set pieces, curtains, etc. to drop in and fly out of sight again.
- 15,000 pounds of stage weights for counter balance fly system
- 4,000 yards of soft goods fabric (curtains, and stage masking
- More than 700 lighting instruments
- 80 microphones (of various types)
- 120 musicians chairs
- 5 pianos
